TTD denies temple deepam had gone off

Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam (TTD) on Monday denied that the 'akhanda deepam' inside the Venkateswara temple had gone off.
Terming it as a false propaganda and rumour, the TTD, in a release, alleged that some vested interests, taking advantage of the tsunami mishap, were scaring the devotees.
Women in the temple town and various parts of Andhra Pradesh had reportedly lit lamps in front of their houses on Sunday evening after rumours were spread on the temple deepam, the release said.
